About Royal Restrooms Georgia

If Royal Restrooms were a majestic Southern oak, its roots would be planted deep in Savannah, Georgia—and its branches would stretch across the state and beyond.

It all began on a sweltering summer day in 2004. David Sauers, then a banker, took his daughters to a festival in the park. Faced with a dirty porta-potty and a potty-training child, he thought: There has to be a better way.

That moment sparked the beginning of Royal Restrooms.

Sauers partnered with his Kappa Alpha fraternity brother, Robert Glisson, an engineer who helped transform a rough idea into a refined solution. Together, they began offering upscale portable restroom trailers for weddings, oyster roasts, and small local events.

Then came Hurricane Katrina.

As Georgia communities gathered diapers and baby supplies to send with the Royal Restrooms team into storm-ravaged Louisiana, Sauers and Glisson braced for what they might find. What they saw changed them—and the mission—forever.

“We started with weddings and parties. But when we drove into that disaster zone, everything shifted. We realized we weren’t just in the event business—we were in the people business. That includes moments of celebration, and moments of crisis.”

Today, Royal Restrooms serves a full range of needs: from elegant weddings and corporate gatherings to emergency response and business remodels. Whether it’s a festival in Atlanta, a fundraiser in Columbus, or storm relief in Savannah, we’re here when comfort and care matter most.

From that first Savannah trailer to over 47 offices nationwide, Georgia remains our home—and our heart.

What our customers are
saying about us.

Just wanted to say thank you for an excellent job by Royal Restrooms! We appreciate your professional delivery and retrieval of the restrooms. They were immaculate and your attendant was absolutely wonderful. Many thanks to all of you for doing such a great job for us. We highly recommend you!

I highly recommend Royal Restrooms to any bride on their special day! A week before my wedding, I realized my venue didn't have adequate restrooms and I went into panic mode. Several friends recommended Royal Restrooms so I called them and immediately got in touch with someone.  They were so helpful and were able to book for my wedding while we were on the phone. The restrooms were beautiful and extremely clean. I will be using Royal Restrooms in the future and recommend their company to anyone needing first class restrooms for their event.

Kym and the team at Royal Restrooms were great to deal with. We needed a fancy bathroom rental for our staff and volunteers and they delivered! Great customer service! Thanks.

Diane DeVore, COVID 19 Response Team, Georgia Department of Public Health

I have never used such a fancy restroom outside. To have a Royal Restroom at our tailgate made it THE place to be as the Dawgs played this weekend. And, since it was a late game, the potty was used a lot! Thanks for making this happen for our rowdy group. I know we are a mess. The way the driver scooted that bathroom right where we wanted it was amazing, even with all the chaos going on at the time

Thank you for helping our family in our time of need. I would say that a house full of family and an overworked septic system is definitely a time of need.  I never thought I would have to worry about things like bathrooms when we were making arrangements for Granddaddy’s funeral. With everything else that was going on, Mom and Charleen had her hands full. The driver came and went so calmly, the bathroom was clean and smelled good (weird, right?) and all it took was one after hours phone call. Thanks for being there.

David is the co-founder of Royal Restrooms Nationwide and Director of Nationwide Franchise Sales. He graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1997 with a degree in Political Science and minors in International Business and African History. After his professional golf career was cut short by an automobile accident injury, he went on to be a banking vice president and commercial lender before his entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Royal Restrooms in 2004.

David and Christy have five children and live in Savannah, Georgia. They attend Blessed Sacrament Church, enjoy boating the coastal waterways, and patronize local restaurants.

Robert Glisson

Savannah

Robert is the co-founder of Royal Restrooms Nationwide and President of Royal Restrooms Savannah. He graduated from Mercer University in 1995. A professional environmental engineer by trade, he co-founded Royal Restrooms in 2004. He left a lucrative job at an engineering firm to lend his technical skills to the design of the original luxury, portable restroom trailer. Robert is the managing partner of the flagship Savannah office, which has seen exponentially growth, from two trailers to 45.

Robert and Julianne have two children, Ross and Annabelle. They are proud residents of Savannah, Georgia.

Emma Sauers

Royal Restrooms Nationwide

Emma has worked as a marketing intern at the company for over a year.  She has traveled to wedding shows in Denver, Dallas and Chicago to promote Royal Restrooms to newly engaged brides and their families. In addition to marketing, Emma has been learning a little plumbing and electrical as well so that she can trouble shoot trailer issues on the fly in order to provide better customer service.

Unexpectedly, one of Emma’s favorite parts of her time at the company so far has been driving the 20 foot trailers long distances. “Seeing America from the highway has always been exciting to me. With a Royal Restroom behind me, I enjoy getting waved to by the people who pass me by and seeing the excitement on their faces.”

Kym McCarty

Savannah

Kym McCarty has been with Royal Restrooms since 2006 and is the backbone of the Savannah office. Kym has watched the small company grow from notes scribbled on the back of receipts to networked computers and personalized software and she has been a part of shaping the progress every step of the way. Kym is truly a “leasing specialist,” able to service clients hosting small dinner parties or large, nationwide corporate clients with multiple site needs spanning many states.

Kendall and Katherine are Kym and husband Brooks’ daughters. Although Kym’s favorite hobby is taking care of clients who are more like friends, at the end of a long week, Kym enjoys landscaping in her yard to help herself get out of her head and relax.

Aixa Gonzalez

Royal Restrooms Nationwide

Since 2016, Aixa Gonzalez has been a part of Royal Restrooms. She started quite literally from the bottom with the company, cleaning and serving restroom trailers.  Aixa has a deep appreciation for every facet of the business and can personally guarantee that when she says a restroom is up to her standards, it is. Aixa has experience in delivering trailers to their most desirable location and can direct customers to the best possible set up. Being onsite across the country at wedding shows and locally at community events, Aixa always ensures that the Royal Restrooms brand shines.

The only woman in a house full of men, Aixa has two sons and a husband who keep her on her toes as well as assorted farm animals.

Jeff Murns

Savannah

Jeff has been a fixture at Royal Restrooms for 13 years. The all-purpose, versatile utility player, Jeff is just as comfortable welding a retrofitted trailer as he is setting up a trailer for a black-tie gala. When asked what his favorite part of his time at Royal Restrooms has been he will respond off the cuff that it has been the travel opportunities but there have been so many memories and special events over his decade long service that he has a hard time picking just one.

Jeff and his wife, Carey, have two daughters and Jeff takes great pride in spending time with them when he is not with his Royal Restrooms family.

Tom and Denise Turner

Owners, Columbus

Tom and Denise Turner are proud franchisees of Royal Restrooms of Columbus.

Tom was part of the Royal Restrooms Nationwide family for 15 years, as was Denise briefly, before they both acquired the Columbus, Georgia office.  They worked side by side in the Savannah, Georgia office gaining valuable knowledge and offering some experience to the staff there as well.

Moving to the Columbus office gave them the confidence to also acquire the first Alabama-based franchise, one based in Montgomery.  It is run by Denise and her daughter, Jessie.

Tom and Denise have two daughters, both who have Royal Restrooms in their blood.
